APRIL

During the month of April, community officers have been actively tackling drug‑related issues in and around the areas of Brickley Road and Acworth Crescent, including the surrounding alleyways, following intelligence and community reports. Dedicated patrols and targeted activity were deployed to disrupt suspected drug misuse and associated criminality, resulting in numerous stop searches being conducted where reasonable grounds were established. As part of this work, Operation Nola was carried out at an address of concern linked to potential cuckooing, due to repeated reports of unknown individuals attending the location. This operation led to several individuals being stop searched, enabling officers to manage risk, gather intelligence, and safeguard vulnerable persons, while reinforcing a clear police presence and commitment to addressing drug‑related harm within the community.

MARCH

During the month of March, community officers have been actively targeting anti-social behaviour in and around the local shops and nearby park, in response to ongoing concerns from residents and retailers. This has included increased high-visibility patrols during peak times, focused engagement with individuals and groups causing concern, and regular reassurance visits to businesses and members of the public. Officers have specifically addressed issues such as congregation-related nuisance, verbal disorder, littering, and behaviour causing alarm or distress, which were having a negative impact on the use of these communal spaces. A problem‑solving approach has been adopted, combining early intervention, partnership working, and proportionate enforcement where required, with the aim of reducing repeat incidents, improving the overall environment, and ensuring the shops and park remain safe, welcoming spaces for the wider community.

FEBRUARY

Throughout the month of February, the North and West team carried out a programme of focused activity aimed at addressing key issues within the ward. Officers undertook repeated, targeted patrols in identified ASB hotspot locations, providing a visible presence to deter offending and engage with residents. Alongside these patrols, the team completed numerous door‑knocks to support ongoing intelligence gathering, allowing us to build a clearer picture of emerging concerns and strengthen our partnership approach to community safety. Several properties were also attended in response to reported cuckooing concerns, enabling officers to assess the welfare of occupants, offer safeguarding where required, and gather further information to support any necessary interventions.

JANUARY

During the month of January, your North and West Community Team have carried out proactive, high‑visibility patrols throughout the Leagrave area to target drug‑related activity and anti‑social behaviour. These patrols have been focused primarily around Acworth Crescent, Newtondale and Teesdale, where officers have been working to deter ASB, gather intelligence, and maintain regular engagement with the local community to provide reassurance and support.

MARCH

During the month of March, local community officers have specifically targeted anti‑social behaviour within the area of St Dominic’s Square following an increase in reported incidents. Regular high‑visibility patrols have been carried out around the Lewsey strip, Beadlow Road, and Ravenhill Way to deter ongoing nuisance behaviour, provide reassurance to residents, and identify those responsible. Throughout this period, officers have gathered a range of intelligence to support ongoing problem‑solving and enforcement activity. In addition, an operation under Op Thalos was conducted at the Accident and Emergency department at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, focusing on tackling crime against nurses and doctors. This operation included engagement patrols and the deployment of knife arches at hospital entrances to enhance safety and prevent further offences.

FEBRUARY

Throughout the month of February, proactive patrols were conducted across the Lewsey Farm area, particularly around identified hotspot locations, following the Op Origins firearm incident. Officers have also continued monitoring the closure order in place at Aspley Close, where a noticeable reduction in anti‑social behaviour has been observed, demonstrating the effectiveness of the order. In addition, the team attended a Meet Your Local Cops event at the Lewsey Farm Learning Centre, providing residents with an opportunity to share concerns and discuss ongoing issues within their neighbourhood.

JANUARY

During the month of January, your North and West Community Team have carried out proactive, high‑visibility patrols across the Lewsey Farm area in support of Operation Origins, following the recent firearm incident. As part of this activity, officers have been engaging with members of the public and local businesses to strengthen community relations, offer reassurance, and build a positive connection between the police and the wider community. These continued patrols aim to maintain a strong policing presence, gather further intelligence, and ensure residents feel safe and supported in the aftermath of the incident. In addition to this work, a partial closure order was granted by the courts for an address in Aspley Close due to ongoing issues involving drugs and anti‑social behaviour at the property.

During the month of March, local community officers carried out numerous targeted nights of action to address drug‑related anti‑social behaviour along Dunstable Road. This activity was particularly focused on known hotspot areas, including Leicester Road and the vicinity of Supertyres, following reports of persistent drug use and associated nuisance behaviour. These operations involved high‑visibility patrols during evening and night‑time hours, proactive engagement with individuals of concern, and the use of policing powers to disrupt criminal activity and provide reassurance to the community. The nights of action were aimed at reducing ongoing issues, gathering intelligence, and reinforcing a clear police presence within the affected areas.

FEBRUARY

During the month of February, officers conducted late‑night proactive patrols throughout the Challney area to reduce incidents of anti‑social behaviour, with particular attention given to the locations of Leicester Road, Super Tyres, and Chaul End Lane. These patrols aimed to deter ongoing issues and provide reassurance to the local community. To support this work, the team has been collaborating closely with the council, reinforcing partnership‑led approaches to effectively address concerns and maintain community safety.

JANUARY

During the month of January, your North and West Community Team have undertaken proactive, high‑visibility patrols across the Challney ward, with particular attention focused around the Supertyres area and the vicinity of Peabody Flats on Leicester Road. These patrols have aimed to deter criminal activity, enhance community reassurance, and maintain a visible policing presence within key locations across the ward.

MARCH

During the month of March, community officers have been proactively targeting anti-social behaviour in and around the shops at Sundon Park Parade, following concerns raised by local residents and businesses. Patrols were increased and focused on specific hotspot locations to provide reassurance, deter nuisance behaviour, and engage positively with members of the public. Particular attention was given to area-specific anti-social behaviour affecting Ashwell Avenue, Jasmine Road, and Spinney Road, where reports included groups congregating, disorderly conduct, and behaviour causing alarm or distress to the local community. Officers adopted a visible and problem-solving approach, working closely with partner agencies and shop staff to challenge unacceptable behaviour, gather intelligence, and take proportionate enforcement action where necessary. This targeted activity aimed to address ongoing issues, improve community confidence, and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for residents, shoppers, and businesses alike.

FEBRUARY

During the month of February, officers conducted a series of reassurance door‑knocks across the ward to gather intelligence and identify emerging hotspot locations. The team also engaged with the community through multiple Coffee with a Cop sessions held at Morton’s Café on Sundon Park Road, providing residents with an opportunity to raise concerns and discuss local issues. In addition, officers attended the Warm Hub event at Sundon Park Baptist Church to offer support and maintain visibility among vulnerable members of the community. Following a noticeable increase in theft‑of‑motor‑vehicle offences in the area, further targeted door‑knocks and letter drops were completed to raise awareness, gather information, and encourage residents to take preventative measures. During this period, two males were also arrested in the Sundon area after making off from officers; both were detained on suspicion of Possession With Intent to Supply Class B drugs and were taken into custody for Section 18 searches to be conducted.

JANUARY

Your North and West Community Team have been conducting high‑visibility, proactive patrols across the Sundon area, with particular focus on Eighth Avenue, Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue. During these patrols, officers have engaged with residents, monitored key locations, and gathered relevant intelligence to support ongoing community safety priorities and inform future policing activity.

DECEMBER

During December, the North and West Community Policing Team carried out numerous high-visibility patrols within the ward of Sundon Due to the increase of ASB happening the area. As part of these proactive measures, one male was arrested for being a prolific shoplifter at Sundon Park Tesco and is currently on court bail until the 13th. These actions demonstrate our continued commitment to addressing crime and safeguarding the community.

MARCH

During the month of March, community officers conducted proactive patrols around local underpasses in response to an increase in arson incidents reportedly linked to young males within the area. These patrols were implemented to deter further offending, identify those involved, and provide reassurance to the community. In addition, enhanced foot‑beat patrols were carried out in and around Purley Park and the surrounding area to increase police visibility and address associated anti‑social behaviour. As part of this targeted activity, numerous stop searches were conducted where appropriate, enabling officers to disrupt criminal behaviour, gather intelligence, and support ongoing prevention and enforcement efforts.

FEBRUARY

Throughout the month of February, the team has carried out proactive patrols across the Marsh Farm area, with a particular focus on identified hotspot locations. During this period, there has been an increase in arson incidents occurring within local underpasses, and this continues to be actively addressed by the neighbourhood policing teams through targeted patrols and ongoing enquiries. Regular coffee mornings have also been attended at Futures House, providing residents with the opportunity to raise concerns, receive advice, and engage directly with officers about issues affecting the community.

JANUARY

Throughout the month of January, your North and West Community Team have been conducting proactive patrols across the area and completing Operation NOLA visits at several addresses in response to ongoing cuckooing concerns. Officers have undertaken numerous door knocks within the ward to gather information and intelligence, helping to identify key hotspots and support our continued efforts to safeguard vulnerable residents and disrupt criminal activity.

DECEMBER

In December, the North and West Community Policing Team conducted proactive visits to numerous addresses within the area that are known to be associated with anti-social behaviour, resulting in the collection of valuable intelligence. Additionally, a comprehensive House-to-House enquiry was carried out around Verulam Gardens in response to reports of suspected drug-related activity. These actions form part of our ongoing commitment to tackling crime and improving community safety.

Community officers have continued to adopt a proactive and partnership‑led approach to addressing anti‑social behaviour across key local areas. In response to ongoing concerns regarding car meets at Enterprise Way, officers have conducted regular high‑visibility patrols, supported by joint working with partner agencies, to deter unsafe and disruptive behaviour. As part of this activity, a targeted letter drop was carried out across the surrounding residential and business areas to raise awareness, provide reporting advice, and reinforce expectations around appropriate use of the location. Additionally, proactive anti‑social behaviour patrols have been undertaken within the Limbury area, specifically along Limbury Road, Coniston Road, and Ambleside, with a particular focus on drug‑related issues. These patrols have aimed to disrupt criminal activity, provide reassurance to residents, gather intelligence, and address behaviour causing concern, contributing to longer‑term problem solving and community confidence.

FEBRUARY

During the month of February, the team delivered a range of community‑engagement activities, including multiple Coffee with a Cop sessions, crime‑prevention stands, and local coffee mornings to provide residents with accessible opportunities to discuss concerns. Throughout the month, there was an increase in both residential burglaries and theft‑of‑motor‑vehicle offences. In response, officers carried out extensive reassurance door‑knocks, crime‑prevention visits, and letter drops to raise awareness and offer practical safeguarding advice. Additionally, Enterprise Way experienced a rise in car‑meet activity, causing nuisance to the surrounding area; this issue is being monitored closely and addressed through ongoing partnership and enforcement measures.
