Our community policing teams are dedicated to proactively tackling issues that matter most to our communities and address the core root of a problem, finding a long term solution. Split across local hubs, as well as an airport community team and the Community Enforcement team, officers have a visible presence in our communities engaging with the local public and prioritising activity based on the needs of the local people.
Partnership working is the key to community policing success and teams work closely with other organisations to maintain good networks and monitor community needs, working together to fully understand a problem and tailor the response to get the best results.

We are at the heart of a Multi-Agency approach to identify and detect criminal activity at Luton Airport. We have several proactive operations in place that helps us to do this:
• Operation Sterling targets individuals that are in possession of cash that they have obtained from illegal means.
• Operation Dynamic uses specific techniques to target those using their vehicles to commit crime.
• Project Servator is a high visibility operation that deploys at sporadic times of day and in different locations with a view to identify and disrupt crime and terrorism. -

Working in partnership to maintain a safe and secure environment for our airport community has been identified as the priority for this quarter.
TARGETTING SERIOUS and ORGANISED CRIME will be the focus of the next 3 months.Action taken:
The Airport Policing Unit takes care of the safety and security of over 17 million passengers per year. The airport has a large number of unique local byelaws which we can utilise to assist us to keep the airport safe.
We have a large team that is made up of unarmed officers, armed officers and specialist search dog handlers.
We have a unique working relationship with the airport and all staff, ensuring that together we create a safe environment for passengers to travel.
