‘The Unusual Suspects’ reveals how the new routes behind large scale cannabis importation are leading police to some very different suspects, far from the gangs who traditionally ran the drugs trade.
Our detectives take on a case after UK Border Force intercept multiple packages of cannabis addressed to properties across Bedfordshire.
They quickly discover the route the drugs have taken to the UK and after arresting a middle-aged woman who has taken in a package, they realise the homemade crafts enthusiast is unlikely to be his chief suspect.
The investigation appears to be going nowhere until forensics make a breakthrough.
Visit our Operation Costello pages for more information about organised crime in Bedfordshire, the signs to spot and how to report concerns.
We have the best chance of effectively tackling drugs supply and organised crime with the help of our communities.
