Officers investigating a violent assault that took place in Luton last weekend are appealing for witnesses.
Bedfordshire Police were called at around 11pm on Saturday (14 March), following reports of a woman injured outside a pub in Park Street, Luton.
The woman is believed to have been assaulted by a group of around five people. The men and women are thought to be between 20 and 30 years old.
The victim attended the hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
Detective Constable Shane Moffatt, investigating, said: “This was an incredibly violent attack that has left a young woman understandably shaken up. There is never any excuse for violence, and we are keen to understand the events that led up to this incident and identify those responsible.
“We know this area was busy at the time of the offence and we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or any suspicious activity afterwards.”
A number of high-visibility patrols have taken place in the area as detectives continue with their enquiries.
Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting 40/14266/26. Alternatively, you can report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
