Bedfordshire Police is appealing for witnesses to a road traffic incident in Luton, in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured.
Officers were informed by the ambulance service of a motorcyclist who was found on Newlands Road shortly after 9.30am.
It is believed the rider, a man aged in his 20s, had left the carriageway to the nearside and collided with a lamppost, leaving him with life-changing injuries.
The rider was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
Sergeant Nick Kane from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit said: “This incident took place at a busy time of day and we are keen to establish the circumstances surrounding it. We would urge anyone who was in the area at this time and witnessed the collision, or may have dashcam footage of the rider in question, to get in contact with us.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact police via www.beds.police.uk or on 101, quoting the reference Op Wisconsin.
