Bedfordshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a woman was left with life-changing injuries following a collision in Luton.
Officers were called to Crawley Green Road, Luton, shortly before 9.30am on Monday (24 February) following reports of a collision involving a Mercedes HGV and a pedestrian.
Emergency services attended the scene and a woman in her 80s was taken to hospital where she remains with life-changing injuries.
Road closures were put in place during the emergency response, but these have since been lifted.
Investigating officer, Sergeant Luke Morley said: “This collision took place on a busy road where we know there were number of witnesses who may have left the scene prior to police arrival.
“We’re keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it. Anyone with dashcam footage is also asked to get in touch.”
The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He has since been bailed.
