Four people have been charged in connection with the death of a six-month-old baby.
Police were called by the ambulance service to reports of concern for the welfare of a baby at an address in Houghton Regis, just before 5.30pm on Friday 9 February last year (2024).
The child, Archie Woodbridge, was taken to hospital where he died shortly after.
An investigation was subsequently launched by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
The following four people were charged yesterday (Tuesday):
Kieran Humphreys, 32, of Bromley Gardens, Houghton Regis, was charged with one count of the murder of a child under one, one count of child cruelty and one count of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. He has been remanded into custody ahead of his next court hearing at Luton Crown Court on 28 February.
Sam Wyatt, 33, of Dolphin Drive, Houghton Regis, was charged with one count of child cruelty and one count of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. He has been bailed to attend Luton Magistrates’ Court on 27 March.
Sharon Humphreys, 58, of Bromley Gardens, Houghton Regis, was charged with one count of child cruelty and one count of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. She has been bailed to attend Luton Magistrates’ Court on 27 March.
Karen Smith, 39, of Dolphin Drive, Houghton Regis, was charged with one count of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. She has been bailed to attend Luton Magistrates’ Court on 27 March.
