Major Crime detectives are appealing for information after a 46-year-old woman was killed in a Luton property yesterday (Monday).
Police were called to Turners Road North following reports of an altercation at around 11.45am.
Emergency services attended, but the victim was later pronounced dead at hospital.
A second woman in her 20s was also injured.
Detectives have launched a murder investigation and are searching for a man who was seen leaving the scene at the time of the incident.
He is described as a white man in his 20s who was wearing all-black clothing with a hood. He is described as having a shaved head, between 5’9” to 5’10” and of very slim build.
He left the scene on a black and red electric scooter which has since been recovered by police.
Detective Inspector Adam Bridges from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said:
“This horrendous incident, which is believed to be targeted, has sadly resulted in one woman losing her life and another sustaining serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.
“It is absolutely imperative that we locate the person responsible as soon as possible, and as such we have specialist teams and resources dedicated to this search.
“We have also increased our police presence at the property and surrounding area as part of our investigation and to help with public reassurance.
“We would appeal for anybody with any information about this, or who has seen a man matching this description behaving suspiciously, to contact us urgently using 999 and quoting Operation Wroxham."
