Bedfordshire Police has launched an investigation following reports of an aggravated burglary in which a firearm was discharged.
Shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Friday), officers responded to reports of gunshots fired during a burglary in Fisher Close, Barton Le Clay.
Emergency services attended however no injuries have been reported.
Detective Inspector Adam Butt, investigating, said: “Incidents of this nature will no doubt cause a great deal of concern within the local community.
“I would like to reassure residents that we are working to establish the circumstances of this offence and are committed to apprehending those responsible.
“Officers from our community policing teams will remain in the area over the weekend. I would encourage residents to engage with our officers, and raise any concerns they may have or information that could support our investigation.”
