We are appealing for information following reports of a number of incidents involving knives in the Marsh Farm area of Luton on Sunday (20 October).
At approximately 5.40pm police were called to reports of a stabbing in Flint Close. The victim was found in Denham Close shortly afterwards and was taken to hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
At around 8pm information was received through the force’s online webchat services about an incident which had occurred earlier at 6.30pm where a person had been chased by a knife in Sylam Close.
A Section 60 order was authorised as a result of the multiple calls about knife related incidents. It ended at 8am yesterday (Monday) however high visibility patrols continue in the area.
Detective Inspector Louise Gent said: “As we continue to develop intelligence and information relating to these incidents, we ask anyone who witnessed or captured them on a device, doorbell or dashcam to come forward and to let us know.
“I’d like to personally reassure the public that while of course such incidents are concerning, there is nothing to suggest there is any threat to the wider community. Over the next few days, a police presence will continue to ensure any concerns raised by the community are fed into and acted upon by us.”
Call 101 or report information online quoting reference 263 of 20 October.
You can also report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
