Bedfordshire Police’s specialist gangs and guns unit have made 10 arrests and seized hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of drugs in a targeted operation in Luton.
Officers from Boson launched an investigation into a Luton based gang believed to be dealing drugs and involved in a number of violent altercations.
Police made their tenth arrest in the investigation after a warrant was executed at an address in the Biscot area of the town at the end of March.
A search of the property led to officers seizing more than £25,000 in cash, and class A and prescription drugs to an estimate street value of £231,111, as well as a mobile phone.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of class A and B drugs. He has since been remanded into police custody.
Detective Sergeant Flaminia Romita, from Boson, said: “In the space of three months we have arrested 10 people who we suspected of being part of a Luton based gang, determined to pedal drugs throughout the town and make profit from criminality and violence.
“Disrupting gang activity, preventing violence and putting criminals before the court is what we were established to do, and these latest results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of officers in the unit.
“We continue to appeal to the public to come forward with any information that will help us take drugs and dangerous individuals off our streets.
