We are appealing for information following a road traffic collision in Bedford town centre on Tuesday (26 March) in which a man was seriously injured.
Officers were called to Greyfriars at around 6.30pm after a black Audi A6 car was involved in a collision with a pedestrian at the junction with Midland Road.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian – a man in his 20s – was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
The driver of the Audi – a man in his 20s - has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He is currently in police custody.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information or dashcam to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Shona Birkby from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “The collision happened in the early evening, where there were a number of people. We are also interested in speaking with any of the drivers waiting at the traffic light junction at the time of the collision and those that may have captured the collision on dash cam.”
Anyone who has any information or dash cam footage is asked to contact DS Birkby by email , or report online or call 101 quoting CAD 396 of 26 March.
