After a busy festive period helping to keep the people of Bedfordshire safe, officers are urging those who want a piece of the action to apply this January.
In 2023 Bedfordshire Police received more than 149,000 calls for service, and 2024 will continue to present new challenges. You could be joining the ranks of officers prepared to deal with all aspects of policing – from pioneering new technology to protecting those most vulnerable in society.
Chief Inspector Chris Simmons from the People and Workforce Development team said: “2024 is an incredibly exciting time to join policing. We are at the forefront of modern changes improving the way we work and respond to incidents, we are growing in number and we are focused on bringing to justice those who cause the most harm in our communities.
“If you have one new year resolution – make it to become a police officer.”
A Recruitment Open Day is being held at Dunstable Police Station on Saturday 3 February, from 10am to 2pm, where personnel from the recruitment team, human resources and university partner will be available to answer questions from anyone interested.
Chief Inspector Simmons added: “Our very special recruitment event will give you the chance to speak with officers and staff from different roles to showcase the many routes into policing, and multitude of opportunities to specialise once you’re in.
“Even if you have no formal qualifications or degree, there is a route in to support your career goals.
“Start your journey by applying today or come to our open day to find out more.”
While you can turn up to the Recruitment Open Day without booking, you can also register your interest on our Facebook events page.
