Police seize £30,000 of drugs and cash in Luton operation

Detectives have seized around £30,000 of Class A drugs and a similar amount of cash after an operation targeting a suspected county drugs line.

Bedfordshire Police executed simultaneous warrants at two addresses in Luton on Tuesday (29 November).

Officers recovered around a quarter of a kilo of heroin as well as additional cocaine and heroin detectives believe had been prepared for individual drug deals.

More than £20,000 in cash was also found hidden at the address.

Detective Inspector Tammy Scrivens from Bedfordshire Police said: “We won’t stand for organised crime here in Bedfordshire.

"Criminal networks are directly fuelling shootings, stabbings and the exploitation of children and other vulnerable people in order to line their pockets with cash.

“Tackling organised crime is everyone’s business. We all have a responsibility to stand up to these networks, report their activities and help make our streets safer.”

One man in his 20s has subsequently been charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, as well as possession of criminal property.

A man and a woman in their 20s arrested on suspicion of money laundering offences have been released on bail.
