Officers, staff and volunteers from Bedfordshire Police have generously donated food items as well as their time to foodbanks across Bedfordshire this Christmas.
With the cost-of-living crisis impacting families across the county, officers and staff wanted to give something back by supporting the foodbanks in Luton, Dunstable and Bedford.
Assistant Chief Officer Phil Wells supported at Luton foodbank, Assistant Chief Constable Sharn Basra supported Dunstable foodbank and Chief Constable Trevor Rodenhurst will be supporting the Bedford foodbank in the new year.
Mr Rodenhurst said: “We know that many of our communities are being affected by rising costs, so it is nice to be able to do something to hopefully make things easier for some families who are struggling, particularly at this time of year.
“The work that the foodbanks do is incredible, and we are extremely lucky to have such an amazing community in Bedfordshire who all pull together in times of need.”
