Officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the M1 this morning (Friday) are appealing for information.
Shortly after 6am, a Luton box van collided with a crane on the southbound carriageway between Junction 14 near Milton Keynes and Junction 13 with the A421.
Emergency services attended the scene, but the driver of the van, a man in his 30s, sadly died. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Detective Inspector Garry Webb, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has sadly lost his life.
“We would like to hear from anyone who was travelling on the M1 at this time who may have information or dashcam footage which may have captured the vehicles involved in the moments before the collision to get in touch.
“Our enquiries into this collision are at an early stage, but any information that can help us piece together the circumstances around this incident is vital to our investigation.”
Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to call 101 or visit our online reporting tool quoting Operation Bush.
