Request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 Ref No: FOI2024/03964
I write in connection with your request for information received on 8 May. I note you seek access to the following information:
Variable Speed Limit - M1 Northbound - J10-J11 26/04/2025 - 11:00 - 11:30am
Could you please tell me how many times and at what times (if any) was the Variable Speed Limits changed from 40mph +/- on this stretch of motorway at the given times stated above.
Also how many people have complained that there is a faulty gantry variable speed limit camera on the M1 Motorway between Junction 10 and Junction 11 Northbound between April 1 & April 30 2025.
I am required by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (The Act) to handle all requests in a manner that is blind to the identity of the requestor. Any information released in response to a request is regarded as being published and therefore, in the public domain without caveat.
Following enquiries within Bedfordshire Police Force please see our response below.
Bedfordshire Police do not control the variable speed limits displayed nor do we hold records of how many times they change in any given period.
Please approach National Highways [email protected]
The Camera Operations team is not aware of any complaints regarding this gantry during that timeframe. Again, we would suggest you approach National Highways as they have responsibility for the gantry.
