I write in connection with your request for information received on 28th February. I note you seek access to the following information:
Under Freedom of Information Act/Environmental Information Regulations, I would like to request the following information;
1. How many dead /killed Schedule 1 birds of prey have been reported to / investigated by your force between the dates - 1st January 2024 to the 31st December 2024 inclusive?
2. What species of bird of prey was investigated?
3. What was the cause of death?
I am required by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (The Act) to handle all requests in a manner that is blind to the identity of the requestor. Any information released in response to a request is regarded as being published and therefore, in the public domain without caveat.
Following your request, searches were conducted at Bedfordshire Police for information relating to dead /killed Schedule 1 birds of prey have been reported to / investigated by your force.
These searches failed to locate any records / documents relevant to your request, this is because this crime is classified as a non-notifiable crime (from a National Crime Recording Standards – NCRS), so therefore this information is not recorded by Bedfordshire Police.
Accordingly I have determined that Bedfordshire Police do not hold the information you have requested.
